Fashion Weeks Spring-Summer 2022 was not the most successful, largely because the models' outfits were not particularly spectacular. At the live and digital shows men flaunted in V-neck sweaters, classic geometric cardigans and pullovers with unpretentious prints. And of course, the classics of men's sweaters weren't left out.
Trends in men's sweaters for the 2022 season:
Cashmere is a magical material, it is softer and lighter than sheep's wool. Cashmere sweaters were demonstrated by Michael Kors models. The chief designer of the house decided not to deviate from the classics this time: gray tones, high collar with ruffles and elastic bands on sleeves.

Swedish fashion brand Acne Studios has done a good job on the design of pullovers and sweaters, but there's only one sweater in the new collection. Warm, soft, pleasant to the touch - it'll be cozy to spend cold winter evenings in front of the fireplace.
Americans associate cashmere with The Elder Statesman brand. Greg Chait has been creating capsule garments for years and gives preference only to this material. His new collection features soft, cozy Radiate sweaters with asymmetrical geometry.
Geometric patterns on classic cut sweaters create a sense of novelty. The plaid texture contrasts with the main color, it is able to visually change the silhouette, to give a strict image a twist. Sweaters with geometry have long become an integral part of the collections of the Italian brand Canali.
At Fashion Weeks 2022, turtlenecks in the style of the 70s brought the runway to life. Bright sweaters with jacquard rhombuses can't help but delight the eye.

In this year's Jil Sander collection there are monochrome sweaters, but one model with a huge contrasting triangle stands out against them.
Dolce&Gabbana Italians do not cease to amaze lovers of high fashion. In the line of models this time was a patchwork sweater, as if sewn from leftover fabrics from unsold collections.

The catwalks of the 2022 season were full of hand-knitted sweaters with voluminous patterns and minimal decorations. The tone was set by such brands as Gucci, Loewe, Bellemere New York and Michael Kors. This winter, the paparazzi are sure to delight fans with photos of celebrities in trendy knitted sweaters.

The mustard color peaked in popularity in 2011. And now, a decade later, designers decided to remember it again. Todd Snyder and Bellemere New York were the models wearing ripe mustard sweaters on the catwalks. Both designers turned out light, almost airy sweaters for late fall wear.

The Frenchman Simon Porte Jacquemus also decided to pay homage to the color mustard, but he chose a shade closer to brown and added bright geometry to it. It looks unusual, fresh and conceptual with a hint of colorblock.

Wool sweaters are indispensable in cold weather, and Bonobos, Bellemere, Nordstorm and Suitsupply agree with that. For their collections they chose merino wool, a durable material that can keep you warm during severe winter. Models with a loose elastic on the collar and cuffs in monochrome colors look brutal and stylish!

From monochrome models, let's go back to something colorful and bright. Abstractionist designers do not stick to clear lines, unlike geometry lovers. The Swedes from Acne Studios, Italians Berluti and French fashion designer Isabelle Marant like to use their sweaters instead of canvases.

But most of all with abstract prints on the runway remembered the fashion house Dior and its bright jacquard sweaters with fleece.

Not all designers are willing to experiment with styles, textures and colors, so they go the tried-and-true way. In their collections there are monochrome models, with classic strict cuts, they will easily become the base of men's closet.

Light textured knit sweaters are a pleasant alternative to knit braids. Unlike its "counterparts", knit sweaters seem to be more airy and elegant. Bershka designers played with texture a little, choosing medium yarn and voluminous scrim, but they didn't dare to experiment with colors.

For the 2022 season, Banana Republic designer Charles Harbison chose warm colors: pale gray, navy, charcoal gray and coffee. His oversize sweaters with uneven collar show strength and confidence.

Thanks to American celebrities, baggy clothes are still not going out of fashion. To please famous fans, designers continue to tailor youthful oversize sweaters, but do it laconically and subtly. Baggy clothes were demonstrated by the European brand OAMC, whose founder, by the way, is crazy about sizeless sweaters. Its Noise with a high neck and abstract pattern received a lot of positive feedback.

South Korean brand Wooyoungmi has distinguished itself by its love for oversize sweaters. Its saturated colors and futuristic collar design make the clothes of designer Yangmi Woo very popular.
